What is a zine?
A fanzine (zine for short) is a collection of creative works in a magazine format created by fans to celebrate a certain theme. Zines can come in both physical and digital formats and typically feature a variety of both art and writing, and some include merchandise as well.

What is the theme of this zine?
This zine is focused uplifting trans creators, in whatever Danganronpa-related art they wish to create, so not all content of the zine will necessarily be about trans themes. However, we will be inviting our contributors to include any trans headcanons they have in their pieces, and we anticipate that at least a few of our contributors will want to focus on trans themes.

What characters can be featured in this zine?
It can feature characters from any Danganronpa media, not just the three main games. We will try to feature as many characters as we can and avoid repetition within the zine, but since Danganronpa has a lot of characters, we likely won't be able to feature all of them.

Will this zine be digital or physical?
This zine will be both physical and digital, with the physical portions being funded via Kickstarter. There will be digital and physical merch, and there will be stretch goals (additional merch produced and added to orders when enough money to produce them has been raised).

Is this zine for charity or for profit?
This zine will be a charity project, with all profits going towards Mermaids UK, one of the UK’s leading trans-focused charities.

Is this zine SFW (safe for work)?
This zine will not be sexually explicit but may feature non-sexual nudity, as we want to show off trans bodies as they are. There will also be allowances for canon-typical blood, violence, and gore.

How old do I have to be to apply?
You must be at least 18 years old by the time the Discord server opens to contributors (October 23) in order to apply.

Who can apply for this zine?
Any adult creator (18+) who considers themselves as trans may apply for this zine. We define transness as simply not being cis-gender, so if your gender-identity differs from being cisgender you are welcome to apply! This includes those who are non-binary, intersex, agender, unlabeled, genderqueer, have culture-based identities, and many more. It doesn't matter "how trans you are"—if you consider yourself trans, trans = trans! The Mermaids charity doesn't only support trans youth but gender-diverse youth as well, so it's only right that this zine is a voice for all of our siblings.

Can I apply, even if I don't consider myself trans?
If you are not trans, we kindly ask you to not apply for this zine, as our central goal in this project is to boost trans creators. We appreciate your allyship and respect for us and this goal, and encourage you to apply for any of the other currently running Danganronpa zines!

Can I apply, even if I don't have a Discord account?
No. This project will be run via a Discord server, the link to which will be emailed to contributors who are accepted into the project. You must have a Discord account in order to join the server and participate in the zine.

Will this zine contain spoilers?
Yes. Although we have not yet determined the exact content of our zine, we will be allowing pieces to include spoilers from any Danganronpa media. Assume that when joining or purchasing this zine, you could be spoiled for anything.

How will contributors be compensated?
Every contributor is guaranteed a free copy of the digital zine and digital merch bundle.
